An Announcement from Liz Davis Therapy.

Hey There! This is Liz. I am honored that so many new clients have chosen to work with me over the last several months! But with that comes some hard choices. Unfortunately, for the sake of scheduling and making sure all of my clients are able to get in for appointments when they want/need to, I have to no longer accept new clients at this time.

This is a hard choice for me to make, but I value high-quality client care and want to make sure I have the availability that a new client would need!

That said, if this website resonates with you, and you believe we may be a good fit to work together, feel free to email me at liz@mossandmainkc.com to be added to my waitlist! I anticipate and hope that I will be able to add new clients again in May 2024. I have tried to make this website completely and authentically representative of me as a person and a clinician, and I believe it accurately depicts the services that I provide and my style of therapy, so feel free to explore to determine fit and reach out if you want to be on the waitlist!

As noted on the Sliding Scale Therapy page at the top of the site, my Graduate Student Intern will begin accepting new clients (individuals, couples, families) at the end of April for those of you looking to begin more affordable therapy sooner and are interested in working with Liz Davis Therapy. Feel free to explore that page to learn more and be added to his waitlist if you choose! The page will be updated with his information, photo, and bio soon at the end of March!

Again, thank you so much for visiting the Liz Davis Therapy website, and if you think we may be a good fit, I am happy to add you to my waitlist and I look forward to meeting you as soon as possible!

Warmly and Humbly,

Liz

Invest in Your Relationship with Yourself

I know what it’s like to feel alone with your problems. Maybe you have no one to talk to. Or maybe you feel bad making your friends, your family, or your partner listen to your problems again. I know what that feels like, and I’m here.

Let’s Talk About It

I’m here to be a friend - a friend that can help. In my room, there’s no judgment. Just a safe space to finally let it all out. Let me help you take control of your life and make it yours.

Liz Davis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Kansas City, MO.

I’ve been seeing Liz for like almost four years now. She’s literally the best therapist. I’ve referred my best friend to her, two of my colleagues, and my mom. They all love her. I asked her if I could write this review so that others know what an amazing job she really does.
— Andrea M.

Liz Davis, M.S., LMFT in Kansas City.

Hey, I’m Liz. My pronouns are she/her. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Kansas and Missouri, practicing out of Kansas City, MO. Read below to get to know me!

The Person. I’m a bit of a nerd. I love reading and going down internet rabbit holes on all things psychology, neuroscience, anything science, self-help, spirituality, and wellness. I have a creative and artistic spirit, but I can’t draw or paint worth a damn. Instead, I enjoy decorating my aesthetic spaces and getting dressed in the morning. I love listening to podcasts, especially in the healing and wellness realm. I am currently obsessed with neuroscience and Polyvagal Theory. I am passionate about processing trauma, healing from depression and chronic anxiety, LBGTQIA+ issues, and processing family issues and dynamics. I am a sex-positive clinician and enjoy working with clients from all walks of life. Learn more about my cultural identity as a first-generation Black and Native American person here.

The Clinician. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Missouri and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Kansas. I received my Master’s degree from Friends University in Kansas City where I was an executive member of the Delta Kappa honor society and a winner of the Sheldon Louthan Award for Outstanding Graduate Student in Family Therapy. Learn more about me as a clinician through this Canvas Rebel online magazine article here!

The Approach. My therapeutic approach is pretty eclectic, as I pull intuitively from a number of different theories and modalities. Overall, I emphasize understanding and processing family issues, attachment theory, self-esteem and self-compassion work, values exploration, emotional processing, and just basically getting to know yourself on a deeper and more intimate level so that you can build a more loving and accepting relationship with yourself and manifest a life that is in line with your Authentic Self. Additionally, I care about relationships. I believe that relationships are what make our lives worth living. Whether those relationships are with yourself, friends, family, co-workers, partners, employers, or anyone else, I want to help you improve the relationships in your life. I love helping couples understand one another and communicate better, and guide them as they move through the various stages of intimate relationships. They say relationships take work, and I want to do that work with you. Feel free to explore my blog to get an insight into how I think, feel, and work!
