Discover Your True Self Through Therapy.

Aren’t we all just on a journey to understand ourselves more deeply? Whether it’s personal growth, managing symptoms, developing self-esteem, improving our emotional understanding or acuity, or reckoning with trauma in our past, I want to walk alongside you on your mental health and wellness journey!

I love working with individual clients and have curated a therapeutic space that offers safety, acceptance, and non-judgment, in a cozy, comfortable environment that fosters the ability to authentically express yourself.

This isn’t your standard therapy. I work intuitively and collaboratively with my clients, pulling from a variety of theories and modalities. This eclectic way of doing therapy allows me to curate my therapeutic style to fit you and your needs. I adjust my approach based on the client in front of me while providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

If you’re looking for a specific approach, just ask! I try to blend intellectual and cognitive approaches with more emotionally focused work. I am also trained in EMDR to assist with trauma recovery or simply process intense or difficult life events. I am also trained in AEDP, a more emotionally oriented style of therapy for those seeking more of an emotional release.

My style tends to be warm and gentle, yet I can be direct and challenging when appropriate, and if that’s what you desire. I want to be a safe person for you, and I welcome whatever is on your heart or mind that you’d like to process and unpack with me.

Whatever your values, background, or philosophy of life, I welcome all people at Liz Davis Therapy and will incorporate what is most important to you while offering therapy with Authenticity, Acceptance, and Alignment.

“Humans are wired for connection. We all have a desire to be seen, heard, safe, and soothed. I want to connect with you and be fully present as a witness to your True Self and your truth.”

Frequently Asked Questions about Therapy

  • Therapy is such a personal journey. If you find yourself wanting to explore and understand your own story, individual therapy with me can be a transformative experience.

  • I try to offer a unique blend of warmth, collaboration, and a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to your needs. It's a space designed for authenticity and acceptance. I also try to bring my full, authentic Self into our sessions together. You aren’t just talking to a blank slate - you’ll see my full personality, style, and personhood, all informed by my training and supported by evidence-based interventions.

  • I employ an eclectic approach, drawing from various theories and modalities. This ensures a personalized experience for you! I am also trained in EMDR and AEDP for trauma recovery and emotional release.

  • Sessions last 50 minutes, and the frequency depends on your individual needs. I collaborate with my clients to determine an effective schedule and frequency.

  • I do not accept insurance. While I realize this is inconvenient for some, my reason for not accepting insurance is I want greater privacy and autonomy for you, the client. Oftentimes, insurance companies will require me to make a diagnosis whether we find it appropriate or not. Insurance companies can also dictate which therapy approaches I use and the number of sessions we have. I would prefer the freedom to work with you individually to determine whether diagnoses are appropriate and collaborate to determine the style of therapy and number of sessions that are right just for you.

  • I specialize in a range of issues, including anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, life transitions, depression, grief, self-exploration, inner child work, emotional development, and more. Each session is tailored to your unique needs.

  • Not at all. Therapy is beneficial for everyone seeking personal growth, self-discovery, or assistance in navigating life's challenges. I create a space for all individuals, regardless of the nature of their concerns.

  • I deeply prioritize and value safety, acceptance, and non-judgment in my therapeutic space. I try to have a warm and gentle style, combined with directness when needed, creating an environment where you can authentically express yourself!

  • Absolutely. My approach includes addressing specific concerns such as stress, self-esteem, loneliness, and more. My goal is to assist you in developing coping strategies and achieving personal growth no matter what you are coming into therapy for.

  • Client testimonials provide insights into the therapeutic experience. My clients speak to the transformative impact of their sessions, highlighting the supportive and engaging atmosphere I strive to create. And honestly, my clients personally asked me to share their testimonials with you in a non-identifying way because they expressed benefitting from therapy so much, that they wanted to encourage other people to start their healing journeys as well!

  • Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. I ensure a safe, secure and private space for my clients, adhering to my professional ethical standards to protect your personal information.

  • Collaboration is key. I work with clients in a collaborative manner, ensuring that the therapeutic journey is a shared experience where your insights and preferences shape the process.

  • I welcome all adult individuals ages 18 years and older of any and all backgrounds. My inclusive approach embraces diversity, making the therapy space accessible and welcoming to everyone.

  • I am committed to your ongoing progress. I provide tools, strategies, and support to help you apply insights gained in therapy to your daily life, fostering continuous personal growth.

  • Your sessions are tailored to your needs. While I can offer guidance if you prefer it, the focus is on what matters most to you. Sessions are a reflection of your unique journey and goals, and I prioritize whatever you bring into the room that day to process through. I start my sessions by asking, “Is there anything on your heart or mind that you’d like to talk through or process today or use our time together for? If not, I can pick us up where we left off.” This ensures that you have the first opportunity to dictate how your therapy time is used, but it also guarantees that I have a backup plan, based on our previous sessions, if nothing specific is coming to find for you, or if you’d rather pick up the conversation from our last session.

  • Therapy is a dynamic process. If a particular approach doesn't resonate with you, I am more than willing and open to adjusting and finding a method that better suits your preferences and needs. I create the type of open and safe environment where my clients can be open with me about what works for them and what doesn’t, and I adjust accordingly.

  • I recognize the interconnectedness of mental health with other aspects of life. My holistic approach considers factors such as lifestyle, physical health, relationships, and self-care to promote overall well-being. While I do not push medication on my clients, if I collaborate with a client and we determine that medication may be useful to them, I have a holistic psychiatric nurse practitioner whom I trust and refer my clients to for holistic psychiatric medical care when needed to supplement the work we do in therapy.

  • Therapy duration truly varies. I work collaboratively with clients to define goals, and together you decide the length of therapy, whether it's short-term for specific issues or longer-term for ongoing growth. Many of my clients choose to see me more frequently in the beginning as we work through their presenting issues, then often move to “maintenance” over time once they feel their initial issues have been stabilized or resolved. Many of my maintenance clients book sessions in the Client Portal whenever they feel like they want or need one. Therapy is just one tool in our overall wellness journeys in life, and I like to provide ongoing care for clients who want therapy to be a part of their self-care and lifestyle.

  • Absolutely. I am totally willing and open to discussing spiritual or religious aspects that are important to you. I value your beliefs and incorporate them into the therapeutic process as needed. I do not, however, push any of my own values onto my clients.

  • While I love seeing my clients in person, I understand the importance of accessibility. I offer virtual sessions for clients who prefer the convenience of remote therapy, ensuring a flexible and comfortable experience.
