What is AEDP Therapy?

AEDP Therapy stands for Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. It's a therapeutic approach that focuses on tapping into our innate healing powers. AEDP is founded on the belief that deep, transformative emotional experiences can foster profound and lasting change. This therapy emphasizes the importance of secure and attuned relationships, both in our personal lives and in the therapeutic setting.

How Does AEDP Therapy Work?

AEDP therapy works by creating a safe, supportive environment where you can explore and process emotional experiences that may have been suppressed or misunderstood. As your therapist, I guide you through this journey, helping you to:

  • Uncover Hidden Emotions: Together, we'll explore the deeper, often unacknowledged feelings that influence your thoughts and behaviors.

  • Transform Suffering into Growth: AEDP believes in the transformative power of facing and processing emotional pain, turning suffering into opportunities for growth and resilience.

  • Strengthen Attachment Bonds: AEDP helps in developing healthier, more secure attachment styles, enhancing your relationships and emotional connections.

  • Foster Self-Reflection: Through AEDP, you'll gain insights into your emotional world, leading to a greater understanding of yourself and your needs.

“I’ve experienced the healing benefits of AEDP myself! You deserve to invest in your emotional healing, and transform suffering and unbearable aloneness into true emotional connection!”

Let’s Get Real About AEDP Therapy Expectations.

Just know that AEDP, while highly effective, can be an intense emotional experience. I will guide you through the process to make sure you remain feeling safe and stable throughout; however, please know that self-care is a must after an AEDP session. Deeply feeling and expressing intense emotions can be exhausting, and I recommend that clients take extra good care of themselves after an AEDP session.

AEDP is different than traditional talk therapy. As your therapist, I will support you in practicing emotional vulnerability as you share your struggles with me. I will provide safety, empathy, compassion, and care, and ultimately, together we can undo that unbearable aloneness that so many of us feel day to day.

AEDP works best when the client is willing to trust the process. It sometimes feels weird for clients at first to be so emotionally open, but I’ve truly seen rapid healing and change through the AEDP process, both for my clients and myself! If you desire to heal from trauma or deep emotional distress, I recommend giving AEDP a try!
