Victoria Wilson White, Graduate Student Therapist (she/they)
Compassionate | Focused | Adaptable
Meet Victoria Wilson-White!
I see clients in-person and online!
I’m Victoria Wilson White, a Graduate Student Therapist here at the Liz Davis Therapy Group. I always knew that helping and caring professionally would be a part of my career; I just didn't know exactly what I would do.
I went to Kansas State University for my undergrad and pursued a degree in Microbiology because I thought that medicine would be a good fit for me. All was going well until COVID hit. It was just me in my childhood room with my studies, and I realized I was not happy with science. I was attracted to medicine because of the ability to care for those who need it, but I learned that science was not my jam.
After graduating, my husband and I moved up to Washington state as part of his Army contract, and I pursued a master's degree in Social Work in the summer of 2024. I'll finish my master's this winter and plan on pursuing clinical licensure after that!
My Clinical Focus
I’m drawn to the "micro" side of social work because I value one-on-one therapeutic relationships. I’m particularly passionate about supporting:
Women and the LGBTQ+ Community: My own journey as a queer person is central to my life, and I feel a deep calling to support others navigating their own unique paths.
Teenagers (14+): I love working with teens as they begin to develop a stronger sense of self and start exploring how their own minds work.
Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression: I appreciate having the time to really get into the "nitty-gritty" with people to help them process their experiences and build lasting resilience.
Outside of the Therapy Room
I’m a local who grew up in Overland Park. After a few years living in Washington state, I’m so happy to be back in Kansas where I can see the wide-open sky again. When I’m not at the practice, you can usually find me:
Crafting: I love doing anything with my hands—sewing, drawing, or bullet journaling.
Plant Husbandry: I take care of a lot of plants and find a lot of joy seeing the growth in all my plants.
With Family: I spend as much time as I can with my husband, my three older siblings, and my parents.
Walking my Dog: My husband and I have a Blue Heeler named Ruth (after RBG), who is absolutely the apple of my eye.
Leaning into my "Diva" Side: I am a massive Lady Gaga fan. I’ve always admired how she stays in her own lane, believes in her art, and continues to "serve" the LGBTQ+ community no matter what others think.
Listening and Learning: I’m a big fan of podcasts and audiobooks. My current rotation includes So True with Caleb Hearon, The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie and Katya, and Sibling Rivalry with Bob the Drag Queen and Monet X Change.
My husband and I met in college at K-State, and he was in the ROTC program, so we both knew that meant active duty in the Army after graduation. We were not prepared for the ways the army would be ~so~ present in our lives. Most people go to work, work, then come home and stop working. Such was not the case for Kels. He worked almost 10 hours a day and then would be in field training for months at a time, or deployed overseas for even longer periods. So, now that he's left the army, we have much more time to spend together, and boy, do we take advantage of it.
We love to be outdoors, either fishing (him fishing, and me reading in a comfy chair under a shady tree), camping with our precious pup Ruth (named after the one and only RBG), or going for walks in local parks. We don't have any human kids yet, so we're soaking up this time in our lives together and finding out who we are outside of work and school.
I have recently rediscovered my love for reading and read 50 books last year! I love crafting and am typically working on some silly project while watching the same show over and over. I have a few shows in my rotation and am currently on a Parks and Rec kick. I'm a sucker for sitcoms or silly comedy movies, so any recommendations are welcome! I learned to sew over the past year and am working on a quilt and various dog sweaters for all the pups in my family. I am a frequent bullet journaler and will end my day filling in my trackers and adding notes to my journal.
Other than crafting and reading, I adore my family and will gladly take a calm family movie night on a Friday night over going out. My parents are two of my best friends, and I love doing things with them! My mom and I are working on a family cookbook together and compiling all the recipes she made when my siblings and I were growing up, and it's been a lovely way to connect.
If you’re looking for a therapist who is compassionate, down-to-earth, and focused on helping you reach your own version of a "perfect day," I’d love to meet you.
